Interior Designer: Breeze Giannasio

It is an honour to work with so many hugely talented and incredibly varied interior designers and architects and to see how they use our patterns in their projects. As part of an ongoing series of features on the website focusing on interior designers whose work we admire, we hope to inspire people who are dreaming and planning how to decorate their homes.
Today, I would like to introduce you to Los Angeles and Hawaii based interior designer Breeze Giannasio Interiors. Breeze creates rich, refined interiors that are relaxed and liveable, prioritising comfort and playing with pattern, scale, creating spaces that “lift the spirit and nurture the soul”.
For this beautiful home in Maui, Breeze created a lush indoor, outdoor oasis with textural details that are reminiscent of her client’s travels to Japan and Bali. Choosing Seascape in Winter wallpaper in one of the bedrooms to contrast beautifully with the green foliage at the windows and wooden ceiling. “I am a collector at heart and a curator of meaning and beauty. I like my interiors to tell the story of their inhabitants- there is nothing more personal than how we live,” says Breeze.

The natural beauty and interiors of the island have given Breeze life long inspiration and design direction. “Hawaii is at the core of who I am. Before I knew architecture, I understood the horizon line. The shape of a wave. palm trees and their rustling fronds. The island was my first design laboratory. (I was the kid dreaming up Ewok villages in the palm trees.) Growing up in Hawaii set me on the circuitous but inevitable path toward a creative life,” says Breeze.
With such a free artistic start to life, it is a surprise to discover that Breeze chose to study law at Harvard and then spent ten years as a private equity lawyer. But eventually the passion for designing gorgeously relaxed homes was too strong and she switched to study a masters in interior architecture in both DC and Denmark, before working with various architects firms. Breeze Giannasio Interiors launched in 2013, creating layered beautiful interiors, and Breeze now appears on countless design shows, and her projects are featured in multiple publications.
