How To Make Paper Egg Decorations
Use left over wallpaper to make beautiful egg decorations for Easter that will compliment rather than clash with your interiors
Don’t throw away scraps of wallpaper from your past decorating project, you can use them to create pretty little paper eggs to hang on an Easter tree. They are super easy so children can help make them, but they do look good enough to display, especially if you have a branch of blossom to hand.
You will need.
An egg-shaped template drawn onto card.
Left over wallpaper scraps- they don’t need to match.
Scissors
Glue/double sided tape
String or embroidery thread
Instructions
1- Draw an egg shape on some card, cut it out, this will be your template.
2- Draw around the egg template on your left over wallpaper scraps. You will need 9 egg shapes to create a fuller egg shape or fewer if you want a simple egg. I used different amounts for different eggs depending on what I had.
3- Cut out each egg and fold it vertically down the middle with the reverse of the paper facing out.
4- Glue or tape the back of two egg shapes together. Continue around the egg.
5-When all the egg shapes are attached, put a strip of double sided tape or some glue on the back of the last two egg shapes in the centre of your egg and attach a hanging loop.
6- Make sure the last two sides are stuck firmly together and the glue is dry before hanging the eggs on a Spring branch or displaying in a little bowl.
To make these eggs, we used: Seascape at Dawn Wallpaper, Shells Ocean Wallpaper, Lichen in Seaweed Wallpaper, Misselthwaite Forest Wallpaper.
