New wallpaper 'Bird'
My new design ‘Bird’ is now available in the web shop, it was launched last week at ICFF in New York and I will post some pics of my booth very soon. ‘Bird’ is inspired by a very handsome pheasant who visited every day when I had temporarily relocated to Gloucestershire, whilst my flat in London was being renovated. The patterns in the feathers of both the male and female pheasant are so varied and so beautiful that I started drawing them. Each feather that makes up the ‘Bird’ design is hand drawn in pen and is designed to create a textured effect on the wall. The wallpaper is available in two colour ways. Monochrome is a graphic black pen drawing on a white background and Shadow has a layered watercolour base with a line drawing on top giving a more three dimensional appearance.
‘Bird’ wallpaper is printed with non-toxic, water based inks on FSC certified non-woven wallpaper at one of the few remaining traditional family run printers in the UK.
I will soon be launching a range of fabrics by the meter too. You can see a sneaky peek of ‘Bird‘ linen in watercolour in these pictures taken by my friend and brilliant photographer Alun Callender. The fabric will be in the webshop in the next few weeks along with some other designs. More info coming soon!
