New wallpaper design ‘Cross Stitch’
After launching a couple of weeks ago at New York Design Week, my new design ‘Cross Stitch’ is finally for sale on the website. My grandma was an avid embroiderer so I grew up in awe of the small neat stitches that she created and the carefully arranged pots of different coloured beads and threads that she kept carefully organised above her kitchen cupboards. But the design is actually inspired by antique embroidery samplers and vintage cross stitch patterns and books that I found at flea markets in Paris over the last couple of years.
The design features alphabets in various embroidery fonts, interspersed with folkloric animal designs. Each cross has been hand drawn.
The design is available in two colour ways. Black on white is flexo printed and the simple monochrome scheme gives the intricate design a graphic quality and Candy is my first digitally printed paper and has 26 different colours giving a fresh modern look to the vintage lettering.
As usual the wallpaper is printed in the UK on FSC certified and uses non-toxic water based inks.
The wallpaper is now available to buy on line, click here to have a look.
