The Secret Garden
The new film of ‘The Secret Garden’ is finally released in the UK this week. Personally, I love an epic family film and I can’t wait until my toddler twins are old enough to enjoy snuggling up and watching films with me, but for now I am just excited to see the launch of 'The Secret Garden' after multiple coronavirus delays... I loved the book so much (and the idea of one day having my own walled garden) that it inspired me to create my wallpaper design ‘Secret Garden’.
Gardens have become especially important to us this year, during the months of lockdown, which when combined with a heat wave in the UK, made me especially grateful that I am now surrounded by countryside. Yet I designed this wallpaper when I was living in a flat in London with no outdoor space and I desperately needed a connection to nature.
Being surrounded by plants is an escape that is soothing to the soul, whether that is tending to houseplants, watering window boxes, growing vegetables or simply filling your home with images of nature.
As Frances Hodgson Burnett said, “If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden.”
