Arts & Crafts
There has been a noticeable interest in heritage pattern and nostalgia during the last year, maybe this is to do with leading a simpler life during the many lockdowns that we are hopefully now coming to the end of in the UK. And maybe this is why Brambleweb, my contemporary take on an arts and crafts pattern, has seen a sudden rise in popularity in recent months…
The repeat surges of approval that the arts and crafts movement has experienced since its inception in Britain in 1880 show that the stylised reinterpretations of natural forms will always have a place in our homes. The original arts and crafts movement was inspired by a rejection of industrialisation and shared values of craftsmanship, with a belief that a well-designed domestic interior could improve the quality of everyday life. Values that are as relevant today.
Nature inspired patterns warm up softly minimalist homes and work equally well in maximalist spaces. Patterns give energy to an interior, so whether you want to go big and brave with a fully wallpapered room, or create simple curtain panels, just one accent cushion on your sofa or even a super roomy bag. Brambleweb is available in many different forms.
